Minister for Employment, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, has launched this year’s National Safe Work Month.
Minister Cash’s launch is available to view by clicking here.
Every year throughout October, National Safe Work Month encourages workers and workplaces to think about safety in the workplace, and how they can make their workplace even safer.
This year’s theme is centred around “Have the Conversation”. Martyn Campbell, SafeWork SA’s Executive Director, said “activities don’t need to be expensive or complicated.”
He continued by saying “we all have a role to play when it comes to work health and safety, and one of the best ways we can increase awareness of work health and safety issues, while improving safety in the workplace, is to start a conversation”.
What can your workplace do during National Safe Work Month?
During October, SafeWork SA are hosting a number of local events throughout metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia.
In addition, Safe Work Australia are broadcasting a number of virtual seminars. Plus they have announced that the organisation showcasing the most outstanding workplace health and safety initiative will receive $5,000.
Further details of how to win, how to take part and events in your region can be found on National Safe Work Month’s official website.
